River Hills History

6 Bdrm / 5 Full & 3 Half Bath

The River Hills home of noted architect Fitzhugh Scott Jr, listed by Guy Nicolet and George Folliard of Powers Realty.

The location is 10+ acres along the Milwaukee River on Pelican Lane - this is north of Bradley, off of Green Bay Road in western River Hills and near the River Tennis Club and the Milwaukee Country Club.

This six-bedroom, 7000+ square foot home was built for and designed by the noted MKE architect Fitzhugh Scott, in 1937. Think about that time in America - between the Great Depression and World War II, Scott built this mansion on 10 acres out in the "country" in the new Village of River Hills. Interesting fact about Scott - he would later go on to be the architect of Vail Village, in the 1950s.

This home reminds us a lot of the Milwaukee Country Club clubhouse, designed by Scott father, Scott Fitzhugh Sr - Similar brick and exterior style. We love the property, here, with woods and beautiful landscaping. Meanwhile, inside there is a very lovely dining room with an amazing circular sunroom.
