Frank Lloyd Wright in Shorewood

2 Bedrooms / 1 Bathroom

Two bedroom "American System" home built in 1917 from one of Frank Lloyd Wright's designs.

by Pamela Williams

An opportunity to write about a Frank Lloyd Wright designed home is one that I could not pass up. And this Shorewood home was previously unidentified but was recently documented as an American Systems home. American Systems was a building company that Wright produced standardized designs for in the nineteen-teens.

This two bedroom, one full bath one story ranch was built in 1917 and went unidentified as a Frank Lloyd Wright designed home until June of this year. The current owners have lived there since 1993. (Background on the documentation of the home via Wright in Wisconsin.)

I love the coziness of this home. In true Frank Lloyd Wright fashion, the entrance is concealed to really show off the front of the home and windows. The living room and dining room are open concept and flow around the fireplace. What's really cool is that the home still contains the original leaded FLW designed art glass.

A very neat find. More pictures via the link below.
