Lovely Eastside German Revival High Victorian listed by Jim Schleif of Shorewest.

LOCATION:

Wahl Avenue north of Belleview, south of the Lighthouse and overlooking Lake Park with views of Lake Michigan.

NOTES:

We love this gorgeous German Revival High Victorian that was built in 1902 for Catherine and Dr. James Bach House. Dr. Bach was an early Milwaukee surgeon who was born in rural Wisconsin to German immigrants. The German-Revival style was popular around the turn of the century in cities with german immigrants, like Milwaukee. We love the big dining room with high ceilings and the fireplace. We also like the updated and modern kitchen. Our favorite detail is the porch off the master bedroom that overlooks the park and the Lake - a "consumption porch" - these were common at the turn of the century and were built for sufferers of consumption (aka Tuberculosis).
