The Orrin Robertson House
3266 N Lake Drive Milwaukee [map]
7 Bdrms / 4 Full & 1 Half Bath
This seven-bedroom 9000 sq. foot chateau/mansion on Lake Drive overlooking Lake Michigan listed by Melanie Gilmore-Gaar of First Weber.
The location is 1.35 acres overlooking Lake Michigan on Lake Drive in Milwaukee's Eastside. This is just south of Shorewood and north of Lincoln Memorial Drive.
This chateau-like Lake Drive estate just popped back up on our MLS feed (it was originally listed last November). This was built in 1910 by Alexander Eschweiler for Orrin Robertson and Harriet Holton Robertson. Orrin was a Milwaukee concrete executive - Harriet was the daughter of Edward Holton (of Holton Ave). The home was modeled after France's Château d'Azay-le-Rideau, which the Robertsons visited on a trip to Europe. The Journal and Urban Milwaukee both have further history.
It's over 9000 square feet and looks very original. We love the family room with its unique cathedral ceiling (pictured below). The kitchen has been modernized yet still has its original fireplace. Outside, the 1.35 acres have gardens, fountains and a fantastic view of Lake Michigan.
