Lake Drive Mediterranean
4 Bdrm / 3 Full & 2 Half Bath
This four-bedroom Mediterranean-style home in Whitefish Bay was listed late last week by Falk Ruvin of Coldwell Banker.
The location is Lake Drive, between Hampton and Oakland - one of the most beautiful stretches of scenery anywhere in Wisconsin. This is close to Whitefish Bay High and to the Shorewood Oakland Avenue business district.
This beautiful Whitefish Bay/Lake Drive Meditteranean Revival-style home was built in 1926 and designed by Wisconsin architect Russell Barr Williamson. Williamson was a protege of Frank Lloyd Wright and is known for his Mid-Century Modern homes from the 1950s. However, early in his career, he designed homes in Spanish/Mediterranean and in Tudor styles (FYI, the pretty Tudor just north of this home is also designed by Williamson).
This home was recently renovated and has a very nice updated kitchen. We love the formal spaces in these Mediterranean homes - like the beautiful living room with the huge arched windows (picture below). This home also has a very cool porch/sunroom off of the second floor that overlooks the cute patio and big backyard.
