The Holbrook Residence

7 Bedrooms / 6 Bathrooms

One of our favorite listings is back: the AT Holbrook Residence. This fascinating eastside stucco home has been on the market for at least a year, by our count. We saw a pending sale but it looks as if it fell through and the home is back on the market, looking for someone to love it.

The location is on the corner of Marietta and Kenwood, just west of the Lake Drive/Lincoln Memorial/Kenwood intersection. There are some beautiful, old homes that line Kenwood between Lake Drive and UWM and this sits on a large lot that includes a carriage house and a large side yard.

This home was originally built for Arthur T and Bertha Holbrook in 1908 in the Arts and Crafts style. Arthur was a physician in Milwaukee; Bertha was from Lombard, IL. It's had a lot of work done to it over the years and has some interesting upgrades. It's seven bedrooms and almost 7500 square feet. The dining room, living room, and kitchen take up most of the first floor and the living room and dining room open up to the potentially amazing side yard. Meanwhile, there's the carriage house with its separate apartment and a large garage.

We hope that this returns to glory. It's currently owned by Waterstone Bank in Wauwatosa, after being foreclosed in 2015. Check out the link to the listing on Redfin's site (link below) for more pics and details.
