Fabulous Eastside Eschweiler
2429 E Wyoming Place Milwaukee [map]
8 Bdrms / 6 Full & 3 Half Bath
Incredible, eight-bedroom, Eschweiler-designed historic home on the Lower Eastside, listed by Powers Realty's Molly Gallagher.
We have really, really hoped to have this one on our site and we are thankful to listing agent Molly Gallagher for letting us feature it. This is one of our favorites around Milwaukee. It's an eight-bedroom, nine bathroom, almost 10,000 sq. foot home designed by A.C. Eschweiler and built in 1903 for Judge P.D. Carpenter, an early Milwaukee attorney.
The location is Wyoming Place, just west of Terrace Avenue and facing the St. Mary's Watertower. This is a beautiful location, close to North Avenue and just up the bluff from Lake Michigan.
And what a beautiful home, it looks like the lobby of a fabulous hotel: the grand staircase and incredible ceiling in the foyer and the large ballroom-esque rooms are stunning. We love the large builtin bookshelves and the gigantic fireplace - it's walk-in size - in the study... but there are so many things to like here, we can't mention them all. Meanwhile, it's been modernized but still retains an amazing level of originality. Very, very cool.
