Hello Again, Gustav
2611 N Terrace Ave Milwaukee
7 Bedrooms / 6 Full & 1 Half Bath
The seven-bedroom Gustav Trostel Mansion on Terrace Avenue.NOTES:
We've featured the Trostel Mansion several times and it's been listed off and on since 2011. At one point it was listed as high as $1.2 million but has held steady at $750k for the last year. The Wisconsin Gazette has a good overview of the current state of the home.
The Trostels were from Germany and ran one of Milwaukee's largest tanneries at a time when Milwaukee was at the center of the leather world. Trostel Square is now condos, but back in the late 1800s and early 1900s, it was the site of the family tannery.
This home was built in 1899 for Gustav and Anna Trostel. It was one of the first in the Lake Park area of MKE's Eastside. Here's an interesting history of the Trostels and this home. The listing mentions that the current owners have done a generous amount of rehab and restoration.
