Terrace Avenue History
2550 N Terrace Ave Milwaukee [map]
5 Bedrooms / 3 Full & 1 Half Bath
Five-bedroom Georgian Revival-style home on Terrace Avenue.
This Eastside Georgian Revival was built in 1908 for Walter Kasten, an early Milwaukee banker and grandfather of Wisconsin Senator Bob Kasten. According to the sellers, the home was later owned by Franciska Elser, widow of early Milwaukee butcher John Elser. It was listed is early June and we finally get a chance to feature it.
The location is on Terrace Avenue, between Bradford and Belleview. It's just a block from Lake Park and two blocks from the fun part of Downer Ave. According to the seller, good views of Lake Michigan can be had from the upper floors of the home.
We love these beautiful old homes on Wahl and Terrace that border Lake Park. One of the (many) reasons is that they are usually well cared for - this home is no exception. The sellers have lived here since 1992 and have loved the home. We love the updated kitchen and bathrooms and that it has retained its traditional feel. And, we really dig the master bedroom "Sitting Room" that has a view of the lake. Picture below.
